Sustainability Plan
Our Sustainability Plan includes specific initiatives aimed at minimising our environmental impact. Our focus will be built on our baseline year calculations and and include key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress and demonstrate our commitment to sustainability.
As part of Masterlink’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) & Sustainability strategy, we have put in place a sustainability plan which targets key impact areas and are implementing projects that reflect our objectives and KPIs. Some of the targets include a focus on the big-ticket emission contributors, such as:
- Fleet investment to ensure we minimise emissions – HVO & EV commitments
- Move to greener / renewable energy for depots and offices
- Vehicle optimisation – load and route optimisation combined with driver training
- Enhancing our consignment tracking software, TrackIT to optimise route planning
- Manual Handling Equipment (MHE) – move to electric in all areas where feasible
- Expand the Success Team (our ESG & Sustainability focus group) to form a partnership with a recognised university, to support relevant research, (Irish Institute of Sustainability) & partner with expert groups & individuals.
- Encourage efficient operations to minimise waste through the Depot GMs
- Installation of A-rated LED lighting across all locations
- Use of alternative-powered vehicles in our operations, where practical
- Partnering to ensure we maximise our waste management with the recycling, reuse and recovery a priority.
- Transport fleet certified Euro6 &, where used, use ultra-low-sulphur (less than 0.004%) diesel
- Re-wilding of landscape around warehouses
- Informing and encouraging our staff and management to be aware and help us “To be Ireland’s most sustainable logistics and transportation company”
