The Avista Foundation (the new name for Respect) develops and funds projects to improve the lives of children and adults with disabilities supported by Avista.
As a valued supporter and funder of the Avista Limerick respite project, we are delighted to share an update on some progress. Avista have successfully secured their funding target of €2.2m needed to bring this forward, and they have very recently received successful tenders’ bids having undergone a public tendering process.
An impending appointment of contractor & signed contract should follow very soon, and Avista expect to stick a spade in the ground later this month, the project should take 15 months to complete. Once open, the new children’s respite home will increase bed nights available from 840 to more than 2,100 per year – a transformative impact on children & families in the Mid-West region. The support and commitment from the Masterlink Group continues to enable Avista to continue their work in building more inclusive communities for the people Avista supports.
